Yadavas Chairos Tigers took on a resurgent Daehan Super Kings in the first game on Sunday and their openers were off to a cautious start against some tight bowling by Vimal Nair. The Tigers star batsman Paddy Surve was visibly struggling and eventually had to retire hurt but in the process, had led to a slow run rate. Muhaddis batted well to restore some momentum and Ramdoni stepped it up further, but their acceleration came too late and in the end the Tigers could only manage 138 in their 20 overs. Kirubasankar was superb in his miserly spell for the Superkings.
Kirubasankar was very keen to catch up some lost games and he started the DSK innings off in blistering fashion as they reached 60 in just 8 overs. The entry of spin in the form of the wily Frengky Shony provided a twist to the game as he struck thrice including the wickets of the dangerous Kiruba & Vimal Nair. Rajeev Kumar added to DSKâs woes with a couple of more wickets and the Tigers were back on top with DSK needed 36 to win in 5 overs but with only 4 wickets in hand. The young & unheralded Andrew Sandi decided to then announce his presence with a superb, unbeaten 26 to give DSK an unlikely win.
