Earlier, Rebels CC had fought off a fighting knock by Sandeep Gaikwad to win a last ball thriller against Mavecrics CC by 1 run. The ever reliable Vivek Elankannan & debutante, Prannoy Agarwala had started things off well for the Rebels, but some tight bowling in the middle overs by Padmakar Surve, prevented acceleration. Pradeep Patnaik bowled a brilliant last couple of overs conceding only 4 runs to restrict Rebels to 98 for 6 in 20 overs.
Alfhariz started things off well again for the Rebels but Padmakar Surve & Pradeep Patnaik partnered well to bring Mavecrics back into the game. Gaurav Tandon struck with the crucial wicket of Paddy and Alfhariz returned to strike 3 more crucial blows and soon, Mavecrics were tottering at 54 for 7. Then followed a superb counter-attacking partnership between Sandeep Gaikwad & Mohit Hotchandani and 9 runs were needed in the last over. Vivek bowled good lines to ensure Rebels won by 1 run in the end.
