Jakarta Barbarians squared off against Senayan CC in a 35 overs game on 4thMay at the Cibubur grounds. Good bowling by Raj Kapadia & Praveen Janghel ensured that Barbarians didn’t get off to a flyer and at 71 for 4 in the 18thover, it looked like they would not be able to put up a big score. Vivek Nair, however, had other ideas as he chose the attacking route and his 81 run knock which had 8 big sixes ensured that Barbarians finished strongly with a score of 184.
The Vivek opening duo for the Barbarians struck early including the wicket of the dangerous Viraj Bhammar who didn’t trouble the scorers. Amrith Mandook tried to hit his team out of trouble but succumbed to Vivek Singh and other Senayan batsmen got into double figures, but none went on to make it big enough for their team. Senayan were eventually bowled out for just 110 to give the Barbarians a big win.
