The yet unbeaten Daehan Smashers chose to bat after winning the toss against Ceria Komodos in the second game of the weekend and benefited from a strong overall batting effort as 4 of their top 5 batsmen got to scores of 30 plus. Swift running between the wickets kept the scoreboard ticking and when they got the bad ball in the over, they took full advantage. Keyur Moradia found the fence regularly to ensure that the last 2 overs went for 33 runs which proved crucial in the end as Daehan Smashers finished on a massive 174 runs.
Gaurav Tandon & Kirubasankar were superb in their opening bowling spells and this meant that Ceria Komodos were not able to get any momentum in the chase. When all looked lost, Vivek Nair stepped in and found his touch right from the first ball. With atleast one boundary in each over, Vivek helped recover the Komodosâ chase. 57 runs were needed off the last 3 overs and Vivek took a fancy to Anjarâs bowling hitting him for 21 runs in the 18thover. Gaurav Tandon bowled the 19thover for 12 runs which meant 24 runs were needed off the 20thover. Karthigai Deepan managed to bowl a couple of dot balls to give his team a 8 run win.
