Meanwhile, Senayan CC emerged as the Runners-up of Division 1 after mauling Jakarta Barbarians in a play-off for the spot. Having elected to bat first, the Senayan batting looked all charged-up and ready to make amends for their shock loss to Challengers last week. Viraj Bhammar, showed a lot of intent right from the first ball and in the company of Faisal Hashmi scripted a superb 154 runs partnership in just 15 overs until he was bowled for a superb knock of 106 runs. The newly married Rakesh Gowda, then got in the mood as his wife watched while he slammed a quick-fire 57 and took Senayan CC to a season highest score of 334 runs.
A chase of 335 was never going to be easy and the loss of both the openers for just 16 runs didn’t help their cause. Vivek Nair & Tim Gutsell put on a fighting partnership but despite some wayward bowling from Senayan, 335 was always going to be too much to chase down.
