Earlier Daehan Super Kings overcame Chaiba Senayan Lions in a close contest at Cibubur. Viraj Bhammar continued in his rich vein of form after the Lions were put in to bat. He got good support from the other end and a good platform was set when the Lions reached 69 for 1 at the half-way stage. Acceleration was needed, but some tight bowling from all the DSK bowlers ensured that the Lions couldn’t score at a brisk enough pace and they could eventually manage only 139 for 4 in their 20 overs.
David Surjit accounted for a dangerous looking Kirubasankar early on in the chase, but Vimal Nair continued his brilliant run with yet another superb knock and at 115 after 15 overs, DSk was looking well in control of the chase. Ashit Mehta & David struck four quick blows and 20 runs were still needed in 2 overs. Manickavasagan & Karthigai Deepan struck crucial boundaries to take DSK home with 2 balls to spare.
