Menara CC played superbly to beat Challengers CC in a game that was crucial in determining the winners of Division 2. The Menara top order batted with a lot of intent and were off to a speedy start. Sunil Samtani & Manickavasagan pulled things back with a few quick blows and were hopeful of stemming the run-rate. But, Usman Muhammad was in the mood and he in the company of Deepak Khullar, playing very Khul-ke, added 100 runs in the last 10 overs to setup a huge target of 190 for Challengers CC.
Raja Zahid Hameed got rid of the Challengers openers and Iruthayaraj & Faheem Butt bowled tight spells to restrict Challengers to just 48 for 3 in their first 10 overs. Acceleration was needed and Santosh Kumar & Srinivasan Govindraj tried hard to do that with a good partnership but they ended up falling short by 39 runs. This win means that Menara CC still have a chance to win Division 2 if they win their last game.
