This weekend in the Texmoda JCA League saw 2 closely fought games and a dominating win by Senayan CC, which helped keep them in the hunt for Division 1 leadership position.

Senayan CC took on WPP India XI in a 35 overs encounter at the Karawaci cricket ground on Sunday. WPP India XI were playing out their last game of the season, with nothing but pride at stake, but it was a crucial game for Senayan CC as they need to win all their remaining games in order to stay in contention for top spot.

WPP India XI chose to bat first and Dwarakanath Naidu, curbed his attacking instincts to anchor one end. He didn’t get much support from the other end, except for some brief partnerships with Gaurav Pathak & Rahul Pagad. Expectedly, Chetan Suryawanshi was the pick of the Senayan bowlers and he was also backed up well by Raj & Ashit. WPP were eventually bowled out for 147 in the 31stover.

With an eye on the Net Run rate, Senayan sent out Amrit to open the batting with Viraj Bhammar. Amrit relishes batting at Karawaci and he set out destroying the bowling right from the first over itself while at the other end Viraj, who has been battling poor form, was let off early. This lucky escape, proved to be the stimulus needed for Viraj as he also opened up thereafter and took his side to a win in the 15thover itself without the loss of any wickets.
