Across this tournament, Viraj Bhammar has been Chaiba Senayan Lions sole fighter and in their game on Sunday against Apacs Warriors, this familiar pattern seemed to be playing out once again as he lost his partners early, once again. But, he did find some support this time, first from Rakesh Gowda and then, from a re-muscled, David Surjit as they put on a 107 runs partnership in 12 overs to set up a big chase of 176 for the Apacs Warriors.
The Apacs Warriors team has quite a few big hitters and a target of 176 should have been well within their reach, but they to seem to be suffering from a collective loss of form and in this game, their woes were further compounded by some dismal running as 3 run-outs derailed them early on in the chase. Aditya Gustama held one end up but we was running out of partners quickly and Raj Kapadia then sealed the deal for the Lions with 2 crucial scalps of Govind & Gaurav and the Warriors fell short by 55 runs.  Â
