SCORECARD

Warriors CC won the toss and chose to bat first against TKC Mavs in their T20 game played at the Cibubur cricket ground on 19th December as part of the R.P. Singh Memorial cup.

Nimesh Shah had an off-day at work as despite taking a customary early wicket he went for plenty as Yash Rathore and Karanjit Singh decided to adopt the aggressive route. Warriors CC raced to 98 for 1 in just 8 overs and things were looking very ominous indeed for TKC Mavs. Skipper Padmakar Surve then got himself into the attack and got rid of the very dangerous looking Karanjit Singh for 49 off just 22 balls!!

Yash Rathore continued to build on this great start to take Warriors CC to 137 for 2 after 13 overs and they looked set to go well beyond 200 at that stage. But, Dhanesh Shetty struck a double-wicket blow in the 14th over and the rest of the bowlers chipped in to concede only 40 runs in the last 7 overs as Warriors CC finished at 177 for 7 in their 20 overs.

TKC Mavs took a different approach in their chase and worked on building the innings more carefully and keeping wickets in hand for a final charge. Keyur Moradia & Swaroop Chavan put on a 99 run stand for the 2nd wicket and a great platform was built when Swaroop fell with his team at 115 for 2 in the 16th over. TKC Mavs were very much in the chase at that point needing 62 in the last 5 overs with danger-man Padmakar Surve still at the crease. 20 runs came off the 17th over and now 34 were needed in 3 overs, when Waqar Ali bowled a game-changing 18th over where he removed Paddy & Dhanesh and conceded only 1 run. 26 runs were needed of the last over and Keyur batted brilliantly to get 20 in the first 5 balls but fell off the last ball giving Warriors CC a thrilling win.
