Some tight bowling and wet conditions made it a tough couple of days for batsmen in the GMIS JCA league as low scores dominated the weekend which saw wins for Rebels CC, Emerio CC, Menara CC & Yadavas Chairos Tigers.

Rebels CC took on Challengers CC in a T20 encounter on Saturday and Challengers found the going tough from the start after being put in to bat. The tempting speed & trajectory of Muhammad Alfhariz created a lot of doubt in the opening batsmen’s minds leading to a slow start amidst a string of dropped catches.

Wickets fell at the other end as the Rebels bowlers tightened up their lines after having conceded a record number of wides in the previous games. All the Rebels bowlers did well and this sustained pressure led to Challengers being bowled out for just 59 runs with Satinder Minhas being the only batsman to reach double figures and Vivek Elankannan being the top Rebels wicket taker. Counter-attacking batting by Rebels skipper Anwesh Bose meant that Rebels chased down the low target with 9 wickets in hand.
