Ceylon CC squared off against Mavecrics CC in a 35 overs game at Cibubur. The Ceylon top order did well after being put in to bat by Mavecrics as Gaurav Kapoor, Baba Sivasankaran & Mufasil all stitched useful partnerships. Keyur Moradia & Padmakar Surve brought things back for Mavecrics with both wickets and tight lines as lost Ceylon lost their last 7 wickets for just 50 runs and could only manage 145 in their 35 overs.
Ceylon needed some bowling magic and it came in the form of Rajeev Kumar as he was superb in his opening spell. The dangerous Keyur Moradia was kept quiet and in the process of releasing the pressure, holed out. Padmakar Surve wanted to finish things in a hurry but Hashmat Hussaini had him caught by Gaurav and the pendulum swung back in Ceylon’s favor. Samir Sharma & Pradeep Patnaik put together a 38 run partnership to bring Mavecrics back into the game. But, their wickets sounded the death knell for the chase as Mavecrics were bowled out 27 runs short.
