Menara CC chose to bat first in their T20 game against Jakarta Barbarians and soon lost their openers to penetrative opening spell by Vivek Nair. Sawan Malik, playing his first JCA league season, then batted brilliantly and with support from Faheem Butt & Deepak Khullar helped Menara post a fighting score of 151.
Eki Antaria helped the Barbarians get off to a strong start as they reached 65 for 1 in the 9th over and after his dismissal to Amila Weerakoon, Vivek Nair took control and at 97 for 2 in the 13th over, Barbarians seemed to be cruising towards the target. Sajid Ali then turned the match on its head with 3 quick wickets and a run out as Jakarta Barbarians collapsed from 98 for 2 to 129 all out giving Menara CC a thrilling win.
