Three games were played out this weekend in the GMIS JCA league with Yadavas Chairos Tigers playing back to back games and winning one of those games. Jaguar CC & Ceylon CC won the other two games.

Jaguar CC won the toss and chose to bowl first and Jagdeep Singh justified that decision with the early wicket of Bena Elly. Gamantika Kadek continued his fine run from the World cup qualifiers to hold one end up. The recently married Karanjit Singh kept chipping away with wickets at the other end and didn’t allow significant partnerships to develop and at 147 for 7, the Tigers were in danger of being bowled out cheaply. However, Elvidus Ikun batted well to take his team past 200, and at the stage it looked like a winning score.

Due to some technical delays, the match had to be reduced to a 30 overs affair with Jaguars needing 174 to win. Elvidus Ikun then shone with the ball as well to reduce Jaguars to 21 for 4 and the game looked strongly in the grasp of the Tigers. But Saulat Abbas rebuilt the innings through partnerships with Karanjit Singh & Nitin Sharma to take the score to 136 for 6 with plenty of overs to spare. Gema Fajar took two quick wickets to get the Tigers back and the battle between the two big cats swung again. Saulat decided to counter-attack and took his side home with 2 wickets in hand.
