This weekend saw only one game being played in the GMIS JCA league where the budding Indonesian team, Rawamangun CC won yet another hard-fought game.
Rawamangun CC skipper Agi Saptiazi, put Rebels in to bat first on a sluggish, rain-soaked, Cibubur Ground and Juni Ariyadi struck early through his deceptive late swing. Vivek Elangovan & Suresh Subramanian steadied the Rebels ship somewhat, until scoreboard pressure claimed Suresh. The entry of Sujeet Ramgir, playing his first JCA league season, changed the Rebels fortunes as his clean hitting, especially towards his favourite covers area, got the momentum back. His partnership with Vivek, who played a solid, anchoring role, ensured that Rebels could reach 165 in their 35 overs.
In reply, the young & rapidly blossoming, Rohan Shirodkar once again played a solid guiding hand. His partnerships, first with Riski Sanjaya & then with his coach, Yeri Rosongna meant that RCC were coasting to a comfortable win at 120 for 2. Marten Eddy prised out Yeri and Gaurav Tandon followed up with a searing spell where he claimed 3 wickets. Sujeet got rid of the dangerous Rohan and soon, Rebels sniffed a faint chance of a win. Agi Saptiazi brought his experience to bear and ensured RCC got home with 2 wickets in hand.
