Rawamangun Indorama CC’s (RICC) young Indonesian players showed a lot of maturity to overcome some mid-innings jitters and comfortably beat TKC Mavs in their T20 game played on 7th November at the Cibubur cricket ground
RICC won the toss and probably inspired by what captains were doing in the T20 World Cup, chose to bowl first. Their opening bowlers Desandri & Arya Dahan Jaka started off very well and conceded only 11 runs in the first 4 overs. TKC Mavs lost a couple of wickets as they tried to force the pace in the next 2 overs and then the girl-boy duo Rahma & Taufiqri bowled a 5 over spell for just 21 runs. TKC Mavs didn’t lose wickets but just couldn’t get any of the RICC bowlers away and they could only muster 85 runs in their 20 overs.
Nitin Asija top scored for TKC Mavs with 26 and none of the RICC bowlers (barring one) went for more than 5 runs an over with Desandri being the most economical.
Nimesh Shah struck in the very first over of the chase but the rustiness of the long lay-off showed with the TKC Mavs bowling as 20 extras were conceded including the rare occurrence of 5 penalty runs. Gorav Pathak tried to get his team back in the game with a double-wicket over but Repen Desnika prevailed in the contest of the captains, taking RICC to victory with more than 10 overs to spare.
