Three tightly contested games highlighted this weekend’s action in the GMIS JCA League as Senayan CC, Texmoda TKCC Royals & Emerio CC prevailed in their games.
Emerio CC won the toss & put Menara CC in to bat in their 35 overs game and were soon confronted by a rampaging Sanjay Ahuja as he partnered with Prakash Vaswani to get Menara off to a flier. Raunak Kapoor got Emerio back in the game with two crucial wickets including the one of the dangerous Usman Muhammad. Gorla Satyanarayana then got into the action with more wickets and Menara were struggling at 118 for 7. Faheem Butt & Sahayanathan then fought back with a crucial partnership to take Menara to 175.
In reply, Emerio struggled to build partnerships in the face of some disciplined bowling by Sajid Ali & Zahid Hameed and at 105 for 7 things were looking very bleak for them indeed. Then followed one of the best rearguard knocks seen in this season so far as Raunak Kapoor refused to give in and good solid support from Harish Vaidyanathan helped fuel a fantastic, unbeaten and match-winning 67 run stand for the 8thwicket as Emerio got home with 2 wickets in hand.
