Ceylon CC beat Indorama CC in a last over thriller by just 1 run in the last game of the week. The bowlers dominated in this game as well and Ceylon CC were soon struggling at 17 for 3 as Abhishek Sharma struck twice. The other Indorama bowlers led by Ashish Khaitan & Sandeep Kukkar also kept chipping away with wickets but stabilizing knocks from Mufasil & Hashmatullah ensured that Ceylon could cross 100 runs and set a target of 108.
The Indorama innings was also rocked early on as soon they were at 14 for 3 wickets. The experienced Srikkanth, then went about building partnerships, first with Kaushik Vishvanath & then with Abhishek Sharma and at the 15 overs mark Indorama looked favorites needing just 33 runs with 4 wickets in hand.
Two tight overs by Hashmat & Lakmal meant that Indorama needed 11 runs to win off the last over bowled by Rajeev Kumar. Abhishek Sharma hit a crucial six on the fourth ball and Indorama needed two of the last 2 balls. Rajeev fought back with a dot ball and of the last ball, hit Abhishek’s leg stump to give Ceylon an exciting win.
