Jakarta Knightriders & K2 Kings faced off in a virtual, quarterfinal clash with the winner assured of a Knock-outs spot. Hameer Pratap struck early for the K2 Kings to have the Knightriders in bother at 13 for 2. Pallav Malhotra, however, found the right game to rediscover his silken touch as his fifty and some good support from Mufasil helped the Knightriders struggle to a score of 148 in their 20 overs. Sajid Ali & Kartik Kapoor were the other Kings wicket-takers.
Things started smoothly for Kings in their chase, but then the skies opened up and triggered chaos in a crucial game. Rain stopped, but the clock was ticking along and just when abandonment loomed, the two skippers decided to battle tough conditions and play a 10 over game. Needing 83 to win in 10 overs, things were looking tough for the Kings after they lost their big hitters. But, Julang Dzulfikar & Baba Sivasankaran kept fighting, but they lost their battle to mother nature as the skies opened up again in the 10thover and the Kings were behind by 8 runs as per Duckworth Lewis.
