TKC Mavs won the toss and elected to bat first with Paddy elevating himself to open the batting. Like he usually does, Paddy started off calmly milking the bowling and running hard between the wickets with good support from Mohit Hotchandani and without the opposition realizing it he had notched up 48 (off 28 balls with only 5 fours) to take TKC Mavs to 84 for 1 after 10 overs. The acceleration in the form of boundaries started after the break and especially in the last 4 overs which went for a whopping 68 runs!! Paddy’s 50 had come in 31 balls but he needed only 22 balls for his second 50 scoring a ton of just 53 balls. TKC Mavs finished on 209 for 3 with Paddy unbeaten on 129.
RB United was always going to struggle to chase such a target down and Nimesh Shah struck in the very first over. Gaurav Sharma & Azhar Ali started rebuilding but the prolific Nimesh Shah took 3 wickets in his 4th over to crush any possibilities of a RB United chase. The RB United middle order’s hope of getting some batting practice was also ruined as the youngster Adithya Nair helped himself to 4 wickets . Eventually, RB United could only manage 107 runs giving TKC Mavs a huge 102 run win.
