As the Indonesian Cricket League 2019 gets into its last month of action, the competition for the top 4 spots heated up as Yadavas Archean Tigers pulled ahead of Daehan Smashers at the top of the table with back to back wins this weekend.

Ceria Komodos, much like their mascot, were struggling to prevent extinction after a day of back to back losses on Saturday. They took on Jaguar Punjab XI in the morning game and elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Nitin Sharma’s blistering start and some wayward bowling with more than 10 wides being bowled in the first 4 overs itself meant that Jaguar Punjab XI were off the blocks in a hurry. Govind Sodani accounted for the dangerous Nitin Sharma and Dzulham Afandi’s teasing inswingers led to both the stumps and Jaguar batsmen being rattled often as the Komodos fought back to restrict the Jaguars to 140 for 9.

The Komodos chase got off to a slow start mainly due to some tight bowling by Jagdeep Singh & Faheem Butt. Sajid Ali struck a couple of crucial blows and Komodos looked down and out at 66 for 6. Govind Sodani & Danilson Hawoe fought back with a 50 run partnership in just 5 overs and the Komodos needed 15 runs in two overs. A pumped-up Jagdeep Singh returned to knock over the stumps thrice to give the Jaguars a win.
