Scorecard

Senayan India XI won the toss and chose to bowl first against TKC Mavs who were back to full strength with the return of many of their players. Krushnum Thacker struck in his first over and David Surjit kept things tight as Senayan India XI started well with the ball.

Gema Fajar released that pressure as he couldn’t control his line and Mukesh Khetan started finding the fence, but just when he was beginning to look ominous, Amar Kapadia accounted for him. The young Mohit Hotchandani then got together with Padmakar Surve to put on a superbly paced 97 run partnership to take TKC Mavs to 141 for 2 at the end of the 17th over. Both of them however fell in the 18th over and this meant that TKC Mavs ended with a few runs short at 162 in their 20 overs.

Amar Kapadia & Ashit Mehta were the pick of the bowlers for Senayan India XI and their recent batting form would have given them hope to chase down 163

Gema Fajar took a fancy to Mukesh Khetan’s bowling but Nimesh Shah at the other end was in brilliant form as his 4 wickets haul for just 12 runs had TKC Mavs struggling at 41 for 4 after 7 overs which soon became 52 for 6. Senayan India XI looked down & out at that point but Faisal Hashmi & Sampath Kumar revived their hopes with a 54 run stand.

39 runs were needed in the last 2 overs and only two wickets in hand, but one of them was the dangerous Sampath Kumar who threatened to do a Dhoni knocking 22 runs off the 19th over. Nerves were jangling in both the teams, but Paddy knocked over the remaining 2 wickets to take his side to a 15 run win.
