Rain disrupted but stayed away long enough to ensure all the games over this weekend could yield results in the GMIS JCA league. Duckworth & Lewis were kept busy as they were called on to play a deciding role in wins for TKCC & Ceylon CC, while Challengers CC prevailed in a low scoring thriller.

Texmoda TKCC Royals were keen to get back to winning ways as they took on Metro Indians who were still searching for their first win of the season. Gorav Pathak & Poonam Bumb helped TKCC recover after the early loss of Ajeet Bhatt and were looking dangerous when Aditya Khurana struck with three crucial wickets. Kirubasankar also chipped in with wickets and TKCC were in deep trouble at 103 for 7. Mukesh Khetan batted well with the tail to ensure the bowlers had a score to defend.

Metro Indians, who have not had a good season with the bat, needed to fight hard to achieve the target of 143 and skipper Prabhukaliraj was doing exactly that. His counterpart, Mukesh Khetan, also stepped up, this time with the ball as he claimed two wickets in his 3rdover. Kirubasankar once again, failed with the bat and with the threat of rain looming large, it was critical for Metro to not lose more wickets. The spin of Vishal Garg proved too tempting to resist as Prabhu perished and at the fall of his wicket, the skies opened up and didn’t relent. No more play was possible and Metro Indians were 10 runs behind the DLS par score.
