TKC Mavs who have both the Best Batsman (Padmakar Surve) & Best Bowler (Nimesh Shah) in the R.P. Singh memorial cup won their last game against Menara Ceylon CC but still need to await the results of the last game on 6th February to know if they have made the play-offs.
TKC Mavs won the toss and elected to bat first and were immediately up against some very good bowling by the Menara Ceylon opening bowlers Roney & Sajid Ali. They took two wickets apiece to restrict TKC Mavs to just 44 for 4 in the 10th over. Mohit Hotchandani then took over the mantle of resurrecting the innings and with support from Nitin Asija & Dhanesh Shetty he ensured that TKC Mavs finished at a fighting score of 136 for 6.
Nimesh Shah then did what he has done so consistently this season by reducing Menara Ceylon to 21 for 3. Mitesh then accounted for the dangerous looking Baba Sivasankaran and Swaroop Chavan wound back the years to take 3 wickets in one over (narrowly missing a hat-trick) to ensure Menara Ceylon CC were bowled out for just 63 runs in their chase.
