RB United won the toss and chose to bat first on yet another sweltering afternoon at the Cibubur Cricket ground. The TKC Mavs bowlers soon added to the discomfort as their great lengths and swing led to a disastrous start for RB united who were 19 for 4 after 8 overs. Getting the length right was critical as the newly laid turf didn’t have pace on it and was providing tennis-ball bounce. Nimesh Shah, Swaroop Chavan & Keyur Moradia bowled full and great lines as well allowing the pink ball to swing and this also made scoring very tough. Mohibullah Hussaini & Anuj Zinzuwadia provided some resistance but was short-lived as they too fell early.
Marten Eddy however looked like he was playing on another pitch as the old silken timing was back and his knock of 36 from 25 balls provided some hope for RB United as they reached 94 in 20 overs.
Some very judicious batting by Milind Shirodkar, who waited for the short-balls to hit, coupled with too many wides and short-pitched bowling by RB United meant that defending 94 was going to be very tough. Gaurav Pathak hit a few huge 6s towards the end as TKC Mavs romped home with 8 wickets and almost 7 overs to spare. For RB United, Gaurav Tandon, bowled very well conceding just 7 runs in his 3 overs
