In a Divison 2 game at the GMIS grounds on Sunday, a fine all round display by Kiruba Sankar, helped Metro CC maintain its winning ways, when it handed Mavecrics CC its first defeat of the season, by 129 runs. Winning the toss and batting first, Metro maintained a healthy run-rate throughout its innings, which helped it achieve a par score of 280/9 in 35 overs. Kiruba Sankar scored 77 runs, while hard hitting batsman and Skipper Prabhukaliraj scored 32 runs. Pradeep Patnaik and Miraz Monga took 3/41 and 3/60 respectively.

The Mavecrics never looked good in the chase, as it lost wickets regularly to be all-out for 151 runs, losing the match by 129 runs. Kiruba once again contributed, this time with the ball, taking 4/23.
