The GMIS JCA league came to a close to this weekend with Mavecrics CC comfortably beating Rebels CC in the last game of the season. This was one of the most competitive seasons in the 26 years of the league’s existence and the final positions were decided only in the penultimate weekend.

Yadavas Chairos Tigers created history by becoming the first fully Indonesian team to win the league while Menara CC won the Division 2 competition. 367 players participated in this year’s league which saw 16 teams facing off split into two Divisions.

Kirubasankar’s dominant all-round performance earned him the Most Valuable player award for Division 1, his 3rdMVP title. His three tons & four 50s helped him also bag the Best batsman award for Division 1.

Gede Darma Arta from Yadavas Chairos Tigers won the Best bowler award for Division 1 with a haul of 30 wickets which included one 5 wicket haul. Rajesh Santhanam’s lightning hands behind the stumps earned him the Best Wicketkeeper award for Division 1 with 22 dismissals inclusive of 9 stumpings.

Padmakar Surve playing only his second season in the JCA league batted & bowled beautifully to emerge as the Most Valuable player of Division 2. His performance this season included both an unbeaten ton and a superb 5 wicket haul. Menara CC’s Usman Muhammad took home the Best Batsman award for Division 2 with 451 runs scored at a superb strike rate of 126. Another Menara CC player, Iruthayaraj Sahayanathan won the Best bowler award for Division 2 with a haul of 30 wickets. Srinivasan Govindharaj once again bagged the Best Wicketkeeper award, this time for Division 2 with 21 dismissals.

In a year, where several Indonesian players performed well, the Best Indonesian player award was picked up by Anjar Tadarus from Yadavas Chairos Tigers who hit 496 runs inclusive of a hundred and also took 14 wickets.

This season saw five hundreds being scored with Kirubasankar getting the highest score with an unbeaten knock of 141 and that too in a T20 game. Bowlers had a better season with 13 five wicket hauls and Dzulham Afandi from Rawamangun CC had the best spell of the season with 8 for 42.
