SCORECARD

Challengers Metro CC won the toss and chose to bat first but were soon reduced to 17 for 3 as Sajid Ali & Roney started off very well for Menara Ceylon CC. Ahmad Nur Arif then got together with Kirubasankar to rebuild the innings. They started cautiously and were aided by some wayward bowling with 15 wides being conceded in the first 6 overs.

Kirubasankar started accelerating while Ahmad Nur Arif protected the other end and the two put on 109 runs for the 4th wicket in 12 overs. Hashmatullah struck with 3 quick wickets but Manick baasha helped accelerate in the last 2 overs helping Challengers Metro CC finish on a competitive 153 for 7.

The Menara Ceylon CC chase followed a similar pattern as they also lost two wickets very early to some very good bowling by Satheesh Kumar & Karthikaideepan. Mohammad Mubeen then led the rebuilding and he was looking good to marshal the chase until he was run out and Menara Ceylon were at 83 for 5 in the 14th over. The asking rate was climbing with 71 needed from the last 7 overs. Hashmatullah scored some big hits to bring the equation down to 26 needed in the last 3 overs.

Kirubasankar then worked his magic conceding only 5 runs in his two overs at the death to ensure Challengers Metro CC could win by 12 runs
