SCORECARD

A win was important for Challengers Metro CC (CMC) to make it to the play-offs while Warriors CC were playing off pride when both the teams faced off in the R.P. Singh memorial cup on 23rd January at the Cibubur cricket ground

CMC chose to bowl first and the in-form Karthigaideepan claimed two early wickets to get his team off to a good start. Karanjit Singh who was in good hitting form, decided to play a more measured innings and he got good support from Yash Rathore & Arihant Kothari. At 91 for 3 after 14 overs the platform was set for a late burst but Hariharasudhan returned to claim the crucial wicket of Karanjit Singh and this opened up the floodgates as last 7 wickets fell for just 32 runs. Warriors CC finished at 123 all out in their 20 overs.

The Warriors opening bowlers Jagdeep & Waqar also started well bowling tightly to have CMC at 32/2 after 6 overs. Santhosh & Arun Pandi rebuilt but were not able to force the pace as they moved to 57 for 2 after the 13th over. The asking rate was creeping up to more than 9 an over and enter Kirubasankar, who found the boundaries with ease and with a 17 ball 41 took his side home with 8 balls to spare.
