Crickingdom Lions chose to bat first TKCC Royals and Gufran Khan got them off to a speedy start. Mukesh Khetan got rid of the dangerous Gamantika early on but Syed Kabir & Virak kept the Lions innings on track. The prolific Poonam Bumb struck twice to bring TKCC back into the game but that marked the entry of Sampath Kumar. He clearly was in the zone as he plundered 76 of just 35 balls to take the Lions to a huge score of 198 in their twenty overs.
TKCC Royals were clearly up against a formidable total but Gema Fajar was in the mood for some magic. His sublime timing ensured that TKCC kept up with the high required run rate right from the start as they reached 63 without losing a wicket inside 7 overs. Gamantika struck with two quick wickets but Srini Govintharaj played ideal foil to Gema as they kept building a strong platform. 48 runs were needed off the last 4 overs and a big over was needed. It came in the 17th over as both batsmen took to Suhail Modak with 3 big sixes that also brought up Gema’s hundred. Despite a good 19th over by Gamantika, TKCC got home to a superb win.
