This week’s action in the GMIS JCA cricket league saw Texmoda TKCC Royals extend their winning streak while Rebels CC registered their first win after a long run of losses.
Rebels CC traveled to Purwakarta to take on the hosts Indorama CC in a 35 overs game this Sunday. Wet conditions including a slightly damp wicket led to a low scoring thriller. Rebels won the toss and not surprisingly, invited Indorama to bat first. The opening batsmen got their team off to a steady start, but Alfhariz struck twice to get rid of both the openers with 25 runs on the board. The entry of Gaurav Tandon caused a dramatic collapse as his skiddy bowling, especially in wet conditions, was unplayable and his 5 wickets for just 14 runs meant that Indorama were reduced to 58 for 8. Sandeep Kukkar fought back well with a valuable 27 runs to ensure Indorama ended at 99 all out in their 35 overs.
The Indorama bowlers also started well and Rebels were soon looking down the barrel at 45 for 5. Sujeet Ramgir, playing in his first season, then partnered well with Hafiz Ibrahim to take their side home with 4 wickets in hand.
