Senayan India XI won the toss and chose to bat in the first ever competitive game played at the GBK Cricket ground in Senayan last Saturday. The prolific Gede Darma Arta stuck in the very first over and Nando Junior pretty soon accounted for Gema Fajar. Amar Kapadia & Parag started rebuilding the innings but the Tigers skipper struck either side of the drinks break and at 69 for 5, Senayan India XI faced the danger of being bowled out cheaply.
Sampath Kumar & Farid Ahmad counter-attacked brilliantly to put on 70 runs in just 5 overs and were looking good to take their side past 170 runs but Anjar Tadarus accounted for both of them in the 18th over and thus, restricted Senayan India XI to a below par 154 for 8 in their 20 overs.
The Tigers openers Muhaddis & Anjar started in a very attacking fashion and despite Muhaddis being run-out the team raced to 58 for 1 after 6 overs. Senayan India XI fought back with a couple of wickets but Gamantika & Ahmad Ramdoni batted beautifully and their unbeaten 82 run stand took the Tigers to a comfortable win with 7 wickets and 2 overs in hand.
