The experienced Indonesian national team batting quartet of Muhaddis-Anjar-Gamantika-Ramdoni were on song as they comfortably beat Challengers Metro CC (CMC) in the R.P. Singh Memorial T20 tournament on Sunday
The Tigers won the toss and chose to bat first and were off to a flyer racing to 54 for 1 off just 5 overs. Challengers Metro pulled things back slightly conceding only 30 in the next 5 overs to keep the Tigers to 83 for 1 at the drinks break. Anjar Tadarus & Gamantika controlled the middle overs beautifully with very good running as a lot of 2s were taken interspersed with some 4s. Kirubasankar making a return to JCA cricket after some time, didn’t have a great outing with the ball as 19 runs came of his 4th over, the 19th of the innings as Tigers finished at an imposing 185 for 3.
A strong start was needed if Challengers Metro CC had any hopes of chasing down this mammoth total but they could manage only 27 for 1 in the power play. Kirubasankar found some batting touch with a fighting 68 but he didn’t get much support from the other end as CMC could only manage 122 in their chase. Nando Junior & Gamantika were the pick of the Tigers bowlers both picking up 3 for 15 in their 4 overs.
