This weekend’s action in the R.P. Singh memorial cup started out with a top of the table clash between Yadavas WISCI Tigers & Senayan India XI at the Cibubur Cricket ground on Saturday. Anjar Tadarus & Ashish Gupta got the Tigers off to a steady start putting on 36 runs in the first 6 overs after Senayan India XI had asked them to bat first.
Gema Fajar struck with the first ball after the power-play which brought Muhaddis in, who built on the solid start with a 45 run stand with Anjar as they reached 81 for 1 in the 12th over. Just when Anjar was looking to accelerate, Amar Kapadia had him skying to Farid. Gamantika then took on the baton and played the role of anchor, playing risk-free cricket and focusing more on Ones and twos. With the score at 128 for 4, Senayan India XI would have been happy to have kept the Tigers quiet until the 18th over. This happiness didn’t last much as Ramdoni & Gamantika plundered 37 runs off the last two overs to setup a good score of 165 for 5 in their 20 0vers.
The chase didn’t start well for Senayan India XI as Gema Fajar’s poor batting form continued with him falling in the very first over to Danilson Hawoe. Parag & Santosh Kumar tried to counter-attack with a few big hits but Gede Darma Arta got rid of Parag in the 4th over of the match and Deepak Singh then followed up with a double-strike of his first two balls of the game accounting for the in-form Amar Kapadia & Syed Kabir.
Senayan India XI couldn’t recover from this double-strike and Gamantika now got into the action with 3 wickets and eventually SIXI could only manage 73 for 9 in their reply, losing by a whopping 92 runs.
