Ceylon CC routed Rebels CC in their 35 overs game on Saturday. The Rebels CC bowling was wayward with them conceding 30 wides, but when their bowlers bowled on the stumps, they encountered a fired up Dihan Silva. He struck a 29 ball 55 to get Ceylon off to a flyer and at his departure, Mufasil & Justin Mathew took up the striking role. All this while the experienced Gaurav Kapoor kept one end up with a sheet-anchor knock. Alfhariz & Owais were the only Rebels bowlers to have withstood the Ceylon assault.
A chase of 257 was always going to be difficult and Rebels were soon 11 for 2. However, a fighting 82 run partnership between Julang & Sujeet Ramgir renewed their hopes but both fell in the space of one over and despite a good fight by Vivek Elankannan, Rebels could only manage 176 runs, falling short by 80 runs.
