Jakarta Barbarians & Challengers CC registered comfortable wins on a light weekend in the GMIS JCA league. Both Yadavas Chairos Tigers (Division 1) & Menara CC (Division 2) held on to their leadership positions at roughly the half-way mark of the league.
Metro Indians squared off against Jakarta Barbarians in a T20 game played at the GMIS grounds on Sunday. Metro Indians chose to bat first after winning the toss and then ensued one of the most bipolar performances, witnessed in the league. While batsmen were repeatedly getting castled by Vivek Singh at one end, Kirubasankar, was building his own castle of runs, virtually single-handedly.
Kirubasankar remained unbeaten after hitting a ton off just 73 balls and he was the only Metro Indians to have reached double figures, a true testament to his herculean effort of carrying the entire team on his shoulders. Metro Indians ended on 146 for 7 in their 20 overs, which looked like a competitive score.
Ben Burgess & Eki Antaria were superb in their reply as their 113 runs opening partnership made light work of the chase with them romping home to a win with eight wickets in hand.
