While NTT CC won fairly comfortably, WISCI had to show a lot of fight towards the end of their innings in order to prevail versus TKCC Royals in their 40 overs game on Sunday. TKCC Royals had a disastrous start to this season with Poonam Bumb falling to just the 2nd ball of the game. Mukesh Khetan led TKCC’s fight-back but he kept losing partners at the other end to some good bowling by Danilson Hawoe, Suhail Modak & William Noronha. Vishal Garg also contributed but TKCC Royals were bowled out for 146.
The WISCI reply mirrored the TKCC start as Mukesh Khetan accounted for the WISCI openers cheaply. Ashish Gupta and William Noronha then combined for a crucial 69 run partnership and they were cruising towards the target until the chase was rudely interrupted by crucial wickets to Gorav Pathak & Swaroop Chavan as WISCI collapsed from 99 for 3 to 118 for 7. Veterans Suhail Modak & Wilfred Schultz held their nerves to take WISCI home with 2 wickets in hand.
