Divison 2 Table Toppers Jaguars CC continued their dream run, when they notched up their fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, at Cibubur, when they defeated Fez Rebels by 4 wickets.
Winning the toss and batting first, Fez Rebels found batting tough, against some disciplined bowling by Jaguars. Corbon Laughnan, opening the batting for the Rebels, held one end up with a fine display of batting on a wicket which offered variable bounce, while wickets kept falling at the other end. His contribution of 94 runs with the bat laid the foundation for a score of 213/7 off 35 overs. Steve Barraclough remained unbeaten on 24. Sridhar Sasikumar (2/49) and Ansar Subramanian (2/37) did well with the ball. The highpoint of Jaguar’s chase was the contribution from its top order lead by Vijaykumar who scored 55 runs while Dhimanshu Raghuwanshi and Abhay Bhalerao chipped in with thirties, before Ansar came back with the bat in hand to seal the match in Jaguar’s favor with a fine unbeaten half century (57 runs), to win by 4 wickets with 4 overs to spare. For the Rebels, Nikhilesh took 2/37 while All-rounder Corbon took 2/19, while its Wicket keeper Suresh Subramaniam accounted for 3 dismissals, which included 2 catches and a stumping.
