Big scores and centuries are back with a bang in the GMIS JCA league in yet another high scoring weekend which saw Anjar Tadarus hitting a brilliant ton to single-handedly gives his team Yadavas Chairos Tigers a big win.
Division 1 leaders Yadavas Chairos Tigers took on the dangerous Jakarta Barbarians in a 35 overs game played at Cibubur Cricket ground on Sunday. The Barbarians struck early to have the Tigers struggling at 18 for 2. Indonesian national team players Anjar Tadarus & Gamantika then combined to build a revival of sorts but Vivek Singh got rid of Gamantika to derail the revival.
Wickets continued to fall at one end, but Anjar Tadarus was playing in a different zone, unperturbed by all the chaos at the other end. He mixed caution with calculated risks and shepherded the Tigers innings brilliantly. A 47 runs stand for the 10thwicket with Fernandes Nato helped Tigers post a strong total of 184 runs and Anjar walked back unbeaten having not only carried his bat, but also the fortunes of his team with him.
The Jakarta Barbarians reply never gained any momentum as the Tigers bowling led by Gede Darma Arta, Fernandes Nato & Nano Junior were relentless. The only resistance they faced was brief partnerships between Vivek Nair, Vivek Singh & Deho. Rain interrupted and the Tigers would have been feeling nervous with only 14 overs bowled but play resumed and Jakarta Barbarians were bowled out for 83 runs.
