Meanwhile, the playoff games of the Indonesian Cricket League were played this weekend with Daehan Smashers becoming the first team to enter the ICL 2019 finals after comfortably defeating Yadavas Archean Tigers. The Tigers now get another chance to fight for the place in the finals when they meet Crickingdom Lions in the semifinals this Saturday.
Yadavas Archean Tigers chose to bat first against Daehan Smashers and Gede Darma Arta got them off to a brisk start but Karthigai Deepan bowled tight lines and some wayward running didn’t help as the Tigers didn’t capitalize on the good start. Kirubasankar bowled a brilliant spell of 4 overs for just 7 runs. Some big hitting by Fernando & Hashmatullah helped the Tigers recover to finish at 129 for 8.
The Daehan Smashers chase got off to a slow start in the face of some tight bowling but Anjar Tadarus extended his dream form and found acceleration at the right time to bring the Smashers back into the game. After Anjar’s departure, Hariharasudhan kept the chase alive with some frantic running and held his nerve and energy long enough to give his team an easy win.
