At Cibubur

on Saturday, Division 1 leaders Senayan CC defeated Menara CC by 6 wickets to consolidate their position at the top of the table. Batting first, Menara CC got off to a good start with openers Harikrishnan (28 runs) and Deepak Khullar who crafted a fine half century (57 runs) laying the foundation for a respectable score. Subhash Mogdil then joined Deepak to put on a partnership of 95 runs for the 3rd wicket, while scoring a run a ball 44 runs. Fall of his wicket saw a middle order collapse, before its skipper Harish Tiwari restored some respectability to the score with a quick fire unbeaten 25 runs to help Menara finish on 208/7 in its 35 overs. Left arm spinner, Amar Kapadia had a fine return of 4/39 for his bowling effort, supported by Ashit Mehta (2/39). With 209 runs as the target, Senayan CC, despite losing an early wicket, was lead by its opener Amrithanand Mandook who scored an unbeaten century (103 runs) off just 87 balls, laced with 10 boundaries and 5 sixes. His 78 run partnership with Prem Subramanian (45 runs) and finishing touches by Malcolm Monterio (24* runs) helped Senayan CC romp home, losing only 4 wickets with nearly 9 overs to spare. Menara, fielding a depleted bowling attack, did well initially having Senayan cc at 118/4 at one stage, before Amrit’s knock ensured there were no more jitters. Kapil Bhutra was the pick of the bowlers for Menara with 2/30.
