Senayan India XI took on Rawamangun Indorama CC (RICC) in a crucial top of the table clash in the R.P. Singh memorial tournament on Saturday. RICC won the toss and chose to bat first defying the recent trend of teams chasing ending up winning more games
Rizki Tri Rubbi (Eki) leveraged the patience learnt from being a new dad to set up a steady but strong platform as he & Anugrah Uga put on 64 runs for the 1st wicket. Acceleration was needed in the second half of the innings but despite wickets in hand, runs were proving hard to come by in the face of some tight bowling. David Surjit & Sampath Kumar were especially frugal at the death with only 26 runs coming of the last 4 overs and RICC finished at 131 for 4 in their 20 overs.
RICC started their defense well as Senayan India XI only managed 33 for 2 in the power play. Amar Kapadia continued his recent form with a controlling anchoring innings as he in the company of Farid Ahmad put on 49 runs for the 3rd wicket. RICC were still in the game as 60 runs were needed of the last 8 overs, but Sampath Kumar decided to flex his abundant muscles scoring an unbeaten 39 of just 19 balls to take Senayan India XI home with 3 overs still in hand
