Challengers CC re-discovered their mojo in a comfortable win over Ceylon CC in a 35 overs game played at Cibubur on Sunday. Shuhab Hussain & Baba Sivasankaran rebuilt the Ceylon innings well with a 60 runs stand after the early loss of Gaurav Kapoor. Manickavasagan & Sunil Samtani then, triggered a minor collapse as 5 wickets fell for just 40 runs. A mini late order fight by Hiran Chamara & Shubham Patni gave Ceylon some hope despite Karthigaideepan running through the tail.
A chase of 155, while not tough, would have needed Challengers to bat resolutely, especially given their recent batting frailties. The Challengers batting lineup did show a lot of gumption as 4 batsmen reached twenties with Gowtham Rajaram looking solid in his debut performance. Ranjan Shankar curbed his attacking instincts to play a solid knock and Satinder & Srinivasan guided the team home with 3 wickets in hand.
