It was a weekend for chases in the Indonesian Cricket League with all four games being won by the team batting second. Indonesian players across 3 teams took home the man of the match honors with Gema Fajarâs magnificent ton in a record chase being the highlight.
The weekend kicked off with Apacs Warriors taking on Jaguar Punjab XI and Dhanesh Kumarâs 3 wicket blitz had the Jaguars in very early trouble after they had elected to bat first. Desandri chipped in with 2 wickets and the Jaguars were struggling at 21 for 5. Ajay Kurtkoti then came to the party and at 46 for 7 everything seemed lost for the Jaguars. Karanjit Singh then stepped up with a superb, captains knock to take his team to a fighting total of 113.
The young Shubham Patni rocked the Warriors chase with 2 wickets in the very first over to bring his team right back into the game. Ajay Kurtkoti then decided to use aggression to get his team out of the hole and succeeded brilliantly as Apacs Warriors reached 90 for 2 in the 12th over and were cantering towards the target. Abhay Sharmaâs then triggered panic with some quick wickets and it appeared that the Apacs Warriors had blown away a great position. Desandri, however held his nerves to take his side home with 2 wickets in hand.
