Bowlers dominated the action in this week’s R.P. Singh Memorial cup games as all the 3 matches saw low first innings scores and dominant all-round bowling performances.

Senayan India XI got back to winning ways with a comfortable win over Warriors CC in the first game of the weekend played on Saturday at the Cibubur cricket ground. Warriors chose to bat first and the SI opening bowlers David Surjit & Sampath Kumar were into the action very quickly claiming 3 wickets within the first 5 overs. Raj Kapadia got rid of the dangerous Nitin Sharma and a run-out further compounded the Warriors woes as they struggled to 26 for 5.

Karanjit Singh & Gorla Satyanarayana set about re-building the innings with a 26 run stand but Amar Kapadia nipped this in the bud with 2 wickets in his second over. Karanjit Singh fought valiantly from the other end mixing aggression and caution but with 3 overs to go he succumbed to Manish Dubey snuffing out any hopes the Warriors would have had for a fighting total.

Senayan India XI lost their opener early in the chase but Parag Haldankar & skipper Syed Kabir batted sensibly to take their team home with 6 wickets and 7 overs in hand
