William Noronha’s mature-blended WISCI douses Emerio Dragons’ fire to won comfortably in their T20 game

After the high scoring start to the tournament last weekend, the bowlers fought back as this weekend’s games were more attritional in nature. WISCI & WPP India XI consolidated their leadership positions while Ceylon & Mavecrics came back with wins.

Emerio Dragons chose to bat first in their much anticipated clash with WISCI Wanderers and the pair of Aman Singh & Viraj Bhammar continued the form from the last game to have their side well placed at 77 for 1 at the half-way stage. Suhail Modak struck with the price wicket of Viraj before hobbling off due to a bad back. The introduction of spin in the form of Vipin Chawla & Kirubasankar, then triggered panic among the Dragons and a collapse ensued with the Emerio folding up for just 114 runs. In reply, the experienced duo of William Noronha & Rajeev Rajeswaran, played sensibly to take their side home with 8 wickets to spare. Maneesh Dubey was the star Emerio bowler.
