Jakarta Barbarians comfortably beat a struggling TKCC Royals in the sole Division 1 game of the weekend. The supremely consistent Ben Burgess (47) & Vivek Nair (47) once again clicked for the Barbarians as they put on 87 runs for the 3rd wicket after the loss of two early wickets. When Vivek fell at the score of 102, his team was looking well set to post a big total with both wickets & overs in hand. The wily Swaroop Chavan (4/23) then took a hat-trick in the 19th over to keep the Barbarians down to 138 for 7 in their 20 overs.
TKCC Royals who had earlier dropped almost half a dozen catches, just couldn’t get going as the Jakarta Barbarians pace-men showed impeccable control. Vivek Nair, the Man of the match, was miserly with the ball, giving away just 8 runs in his 3 overs. Eki Antaria (2/29), Mohib Hussaini (2/21) & Desandri Saputra (3/14) were all superb as they bowled out a 10 man TKCC Royals for just 89 in the 17th over. Avakash Lohia (24) & Suren Khetan (20) were the main contributors for the Royals.
