In another division 2 game at Cibubur grounds, ChallengersCC defeated Mavecrics by 4 wickets. Winning the toss and bowling first, the Challengers kept pegging away at the wickets. With his bounce and subtle variations, and the “carom ball” to boot, Vimal Nayar spun a web around the Mavecrics batsmen taking 3/17, while Satinder took 3/23. With debutant Pawan Lahoti’s 20 runs, Keyur Moradia’s 18 runs, and the tail wagging a little longer, the Mavecrics, taking the field without four of its regulars, reached 133 runs before being all-out.  Despite losing a wicket very early in its chase, a fine partnership of 75 runs between opener Vasudevan (27 runs) and debutant Sidhu Singh (31 runs) brought the Challengers within striking distance of the target. A late surge by the Mavecrics who took 5 quick wickets could not prevent the Challengers from overhauling the target in the 26th over, as in the end there wasn’t much runs for the Mavecrics to play with.
