Karawachi saw another tense battle with Usman Mohamad of Menara riding his luck and single handedly out smashing Ceylon. On a wet morning, with the game was reduced to 20 overs a side, Menara won the toss and bowled first. Dihan and Shuhab put up a good start and despite losing Dihan, Shuhab kept things steady and scored a fluent half century. Other batsmen chipped in well and Ceylon managed 149 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Menara in reply started disastrously with Rajeev Kumar picking up the openers in the first over. Thereafter it was an Usman show. Showing tremendous timing and power and aided by some dropped catches, Usman belted the Ceylon bowlers to all sides of the ground, mostly taking the aerial route. His 11 sixes and 5 fours and a score of 103 off just 46 balls showed how he took his former team to the cleaners.
