Every year, the JCA along with the Australian embassy organizes a T20 game of cricket between an Indian XI and an Australian XI to celebrate both Australia Day & India’s Republic Day. Played at the Cibubur Cricket Ground, this year’s Kangaroo-Curry cup saw the Indian XI register a big win over the Australian XI.

Ramesh Kalyan was at his destructive best as he partnered with Rahul Pagad to put on a 130 runs stand, and with the help of 17 boundary hits, raced to a ton in only 48 balls. Rahul Pagad also matched him shot for shot as he too cleared the fence at will. This partnership along with a late flurry by Vivek Nair gave the Indian XI a huge 248 runs in 20 overs.

James de Crespiny & Christian Hirst went after the huge target in due earnest, but the Indian XI bowlers led by Pradeep Patnaik kept things tight which meant that the Australian XI could only manage 135 runs in their reply.
